Staying in Boston

I decided that the job I was looking at was not the best decision for me. There were quite a few things going for it such as good experience and good resume fodder, but there were too many nagging strikes against the position. They waffled when I negotiated the salary which turned me off. They had also demonstrated some unprofessional practices within the company. The clincher for me was the drastic change in lifestyle necessitated by taking on a job which offered virtually no time off. They admitted that it was a rough schedule but were not able to provide a solution. Now I almost feel like going back and offering myself as a consultant to suggest ways to make their crew's lives better. In any case, the whole interviewing process taught me quite a bit about this industry and I'm excited to move along. I'll probably stay at my current job in Boston for the winter and see how some other plans come along.
