Blood types
Everyone argues about which blood type is the "universal donor" and which is most rare, etc. I've always known that there was a definitive answer but never found the information. Here is a simple chart which sets it all straight.
- If you are blood type A, your donor should have blood type A or O
- If you are blood type B, your donor should have blood type B or O
- If you are blood type O, the donor must have blood type O (type O is called the "universal donor")
- If you have blood type AB (the "universal acceptor"), your donor can have blood type AB, A, B or O
Now I just need to find info on the rarity of the variations, like positive and negative. My blood type is O- and I am constantly being contacted to give blood.

Just wondering, did you get that chart off CNN.com? Cuz I saw the same exact thing on their site. :) It was in the article about the girl who was given the wrong transplant.

total non-sequitar
did u know that there is a hypothosis about mean eurasian intelligence being more the product of blood types than by natural selection? the reason for this is certain blood types are more resistant to the plagues brought in by domesticated/non-domesticated wildlife in eurasia in the past 500 years as opposed to places like new guinea where survival of the fittest is more determined by physical skill and/or raw intelligence... b/c those plagues never happened there?
this comes from a great book i am reading called Guns Germs and Steel... check it out... if it is good enough to win a pulitzer prize it is probably good enough for you!
