Canon camera help

I have two batteries for my Canon Powershot S100 Digital Elph (damn, what a long name). It seems as if neither of the batteries is holding a charge. At least it seems that way. I am considering that maybe the camera has some sort of fault which is drawing the batteries down at an unusually fast rate.

Does anyone have a battery for a Digital Elph I can borrow to experiment with? If I try a third battery and it too goes flat quickly then I be certain that the camera is at fault. Otherwise I will just get new batteries.

The S100 has had long documented battery issues. This being their first camera to use lithium-ion batteries, their power management ain't that great. I doubt the camera has some new fault, new battries should be the solution.

I bought a new S100 battery a few months ago to have two on hand. No problems.

Also, consider that your charger may be faulty.

I've tried two different chargers. A new battery is now on order; I'll post results when the battery arrives.

Ummmm... I still have an AE-1 Program. What are you guys talking about? The AE1 still takes GREAT pics and even has a motor drive (so my thumb doesn't get tired). Sure, the motor drive is "bolted on" to the body and the whole thing weighs as much as a newborn child, but SO WHAT? It still takes great pics!

I've had the same battery drain problem with my
s100. I don't have the AC adapter so I cannot
be sure it's the batteries. I purchased 2 new
batteries on EBAY (very cheap), that work
slightly better than the original (3 years old).
I'm concerned that it's not the battery!

I will try to take it to Circuit City and plug it
into one of their displays. If it works well with
their AC power, I'll assume I need a new Canon
brand battery. The knock-offs just didn't cut it.
