Passing history

Arthur Maass (1917-2004)

My great uncle Arthur passed away yesterday morning. He lived a long and accomplished life as a historian and educator. He was a professor at Harvard University and eventually became Chair of the Government Department and then retiring in 1984. He published a number of books and papers on government as well as conducting research and publishing several papers with the Army Corps of Engineers regarding irrigation issues around the US. He will be missed.

I was an early student of Arthur's and an old friend (Harvard and Dunster 1956). I have just seen this posting, although I knew of your great uncle's death. He was an outstanding person who enriched my life.
