carwreck.com: around Boston harbor...
Lots going on
This past weekend I did a lot of travelling, and the end is not in sight. I left Boston on Friday to pick up my uncle in Providence and bring him to White Plains, NY. Then I went to Manhattan and then Brooklyn to visit a friend. Then it was back to White Plains for the night. Saturday had me dropping on people in Mount Kisco and then heading to Sharon, CT for a huge party with the eCamp folks. On Sunday I went back to White Plains for dinner with my grandmother. Monday I drove my uncle back up north but this time my other uncle's in MA. Then back to Boston.
And on top of this all, after one day in Boston, I am flying down to North Carolina for a few days. Rough life, right?!

Soulive concert
I went to see Soulive last night at Avalon. I had never heard them before yesterday and listened to a few tracks off of their website. I was intrigued as I heard that that are funky, jazzy and I would probably like them. Well I did like their music; it was somewhat like Maceo Parker, a little like the Meters, and very jammy. But it just didn't do it for me. I think I have become to critical of that kind of music. Or maybe I've heard too much which is VERY good, so I have a hard time appreciating jamband music which just OK. While each of their instrumental skills were amazing, their jams were long and repetetive and as a band they were not very tight and synchronized. Oh well, it is always good to hear new music though.

Saabworks video
Here's a link to a very short video of how we finished the rally up in Montreal a few weeks ago. We had badly damaged ~somethine~ inside our engine so were unable to go fast. So we took the opportunity to help out some friends of ours who's engine had quit on them just about one kilometer from the finish.

Working at the Marathon
Today I worked for the emergency communications team for the Boston Marathon. It was pretty interesting as I was placed at a First Aid station at mile 23.6, just about a mile past the top of "Heartbreak Hill." We treated quite a few runners who were having a hard time of it. Fortunately we only sent a couple people away in ambulances.

Back from Montreal
I'm back from the Rallye de Sanair near Montreal. We had fun! The rally was an all tarmac event, meaning that all of the stages were driven on pavement instead of the gravel and dirt which we normally race on. It was very fast, and surpisingly, very rough. There was lots of carnage. We had an altercation with a guard rail at one point and then, during the last stage, the engine started digesting itself from the inside out. Fortunately, the car made it to the finish.
